NEWS CENTER - Making a statement regarding the Boğaziçi University protests, İstanbul Governorate said 159 students were detained by the police.
Scores of students were detained in the protests organized by the students against the appointment of so called rector Melih Bulu.
According to the İstanbul Governorate the number of students detained by the police is 159.
The statement reads: "The protesters who did not disperse all warnings in front of the South Campus of Boğaziçi University (108), and those who blockaded the Rector's Office preventing people from getting out (51), a total of (159) students were detained on the instructions of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office by the Provincial Security Directorate."
