URFA - The family of Süleyman Şeyho who came from Kobanê, who was arrested under the name of another person and sentenced to life imprisonment 18 years ago in Siirt, said that all their applications to Turkish authorities with official documents were rejected.

 

After being detained in Siirt in 2004, Süleyman Şeyho from Kobanê was arrested under the name Muhammet Ahmet after having him sign all the documents placed in front of him who did not speak a word of Turkish. Süleyman Şeyho, who has been imprisoned for 18 years, explained the situation in a letter he sent from Balıkesir Type T Prison.

 

It was learned that Şeyho was born in Donxiza Sexîr village of Kobanê in 1984, as the eldest of 9 boys and 3 girls, and came to Siirt to work in the well digging business to support his family. It was stated that Şeyho was arrested and sent to prison for allegedly being a person named Muhammet Ahmet when he was 20 years old when he was looking for a job in a village of Siirt in 2004. 

 

THE FAMILY LIVES IN KOBANÊ

 

Hawar News Agency (ANHA) met with Şeyho's family in Kobanê, Northern and Eastern Syria. The family protested the situation and told that they had all the official documents to prove that Şeyho is their son. The family added that even though they had all the documents, their application to see their son was rejected because he was believed to be Muhammet Ahmet by the prison administration.

 

Şeyho's father İsmail Şeyho told that his son never carried a gun or participated in violent demonstrations. Stating that his son was detained while he was looking for a job, father Şeyho said: "My son is being tortured in those dungeons. We send money for his needs but they don't know accept that he is our son." 

 

Father Şeyho told that they once visited their son in 2010, but then the Turkish officials told that the last name of the prisoner is not the same with the family and rejected any visits after that.
