ISTANBUL - DISK members laid wreaths at the Monument of the Republic in Taksim Square.

 

The Confederation of Revolutionary Trade Unions (DİSK) laid a wreath at the Monument of the Republic in Taksim on May 1, the Day of Unity, Struggle and Solidarity. DİSK Chairperson Arzu Çerkezoğlu made a statement after marching to the monument with the board of directors.

 

Çerkezoğlu said: “Today is the international day of unity, struggle and solidarity of the working class. Today, not only in our country, but all over the world, in 5 continents, the working class, those who produce all the values and beauties of this world, are in the fields with their own demands and targets of struggle. We came here today as the DISK Board of Directors, we left our wreath. Now we will pass to Maltepe Square from here. We will meet in the fields in Maltepe Square in Istanbul and in squares all over Turkey.”
