Wan: No one has the courage to usurp our will

WAN - The people of Wan, who put up a great resistance on the streets for two days and made Turkish state step back against the attempts to usurp their will, which they reflected in the ballot box, stated that no one will have the courage to interfere with their will anymore.

The people of Wan claimed their will and took to the streets and started to protest after the "political ambush" against for People’s Equalıty and Democracy Party (DEM Party) member Abdullah Zeydan, whom they elected as the Co-Mayor of Wan Metropolitan Municipality with their votes in the local elections, and his certificate of election was not given. As a result of the resistance of the people of the city did not leave the streets and showed their reactions for two days, the decision of the Supreme Electoral Board (YSK) had to rectify the mistake and give Zeydan his certificate of election.

The people, who took a step back from the will usurpation attempt, are now proud and enthusiastic about the victory they achieved, as well as the result of the ballot box.

'WE WILL NOT ALLOW IT AGAIN'

Drawing attention to their resistance against will usurpation, Sukru Akdogan said: “We went to the ballot box and cast our votes, and as a result, these people saw Abdullah Zeydan as their co-mayor. Erdogan says there is democracy in the country. If there is democracy, then why are you doing this cruelty to us? These people went to the polls of their own will and cast their votes. Our city has been governed by trustees for 8 years and nothing has been done to the city until today. We live in this city and this is our land. Our victory in the election has upset them a lot, so they are looking for profit and corruption again. But we will not allow this. If something like this happens again, we will set fire to the city and ourselves. Whoever we choose as our will will rule us."

'IF WE HAD NOT RESISTED THEY WOULD TAKE ALL THE MUNICIPALITIES'

Stating that they did not allow will usurpation, Ilhan Dikici said: “DEM Party won all 14 municipalities in the 31 March local elections. Of course, this victory upset the government very much. An attempt was made to prepare a conspiracy in the person of Abdullah Zeydan. But the people of Wan gave the necessary response to this prepared conspiracy. The people of Wan are an honorable and dignified people. It was an answer to the whole world with the honorable stance they showed. If we had not shown this resistance, such a conspiracy would have been established from Wan to all other cities. But we prevented this, therefore we saved the whole of Turkey. They should know well that no one can interfere with our will."

'OUR ANSWER WILL BE HARDER'

Huseyin Akdag, emphasizing that the response they would receive if such a thing were tried again, would be very different, added: “We took all of our municipalities from the usurper trustees. Unable to digest this defeat, the government wanted to usurp the will of the people again. But the people's resistance against these plans won, and even if they did, the people's resistance would win again. I congratulate the people of Wan once again for their 14 out of 14 victory and for standing up for their will. There is nothing in the city, which has been ruled by trustees for years. They didn't do anything good to us. The government is now over in the eyes of the people, and they are aware of it. No one can take away our will. If they want to try again, the response they will receive will be harder."

'NO MORE PASSAGE'

Cihangir Kızıltas stated that they have been oppressed in the municipality, which has been governed by trustees for years, and said: “I congratulate everyone who supported the two-day resistance. The people took their will from the usurpers. Whatever Israel is doing to Gaza, this government is oppressing the Kurds. We used our right and elected our mayor. But they do not accept it. But they should know that we will never allow them.”

'THEY TRIED TO DESTROY OUR WILL'

Mustafa Adıyaman stated the following: “There are municipalities that have been run by trustees for years. They have done nothing but oppress the Wan people so far. They tried to ignore our will. We went to the polls and cast our votes. As a result, we elected our mayors. No one can take away our will."
