ÊLIH - Young people resisted against the trustees in front of the municipality during the day and protested against the usurpation of will by lighting fires in the streets and avenues at night.
The youth in Êlih (Batman) were in the field during the day against the appointment of trustees to the Xelfetî municipalities of Êlih, Mêrdîn (Mardin) and Riha (Urfa). Youth organized protests in the neighborhoods at night. Youth against the trustees blocked roads in Hilal, Karşıyaka, Petrolkent, Bağlar, Cudi and Petrol neighborhoods. Reacting to the violence of the police for days, the youth chanted “Bijî Serok Apo (Long live Leader Apo)”, “Bê Serok jiyan nabe (Without Leader there is no life)”, “Youth is Apo's sacrifice”, “The trustees will go, the people will come” and “PKK is the people, the people are here”.
The youth lit fires in the streets and alleys and responded to the police who attacked them. While the police used tear gas, TOMA and rubber bullets, the youth blocked the road, lit fires and responded with fireworks.
