Fahriye Ceylan, who was held in Alanya Type L Closed Prison in Alanya district of Antalya, was released after 32 years of imprisonment. Fahriye Ceylan was detained and arrested in 1992 in Amed (Diyarbakır) and sentenced to life imprisonment by the State Security Court (DGM) for "disrupting the unity and integrity of the state".
Fahriye Ceylan was prevented from completing her execution period on various grounds. Fahriye Ceylan, who was imprisoned when she was only 18 years old, was held in prisons in Amed, Êlih (Batman) and Adana respectively. Fahriye Ceylan, who was last transferred to Alanya Type L Closed Prison, completed her execution in January 2022. However, Fahriye Ceylan's release was postponed 6 times on the grounds of "not making a sincere statement", "not repenting" and "not exercising according to the rules".
