Baloch women's sit-in protest against the Pakistani state's enforced disappearances of Baloch people, arrests of Baloch activists and Baloch Yakjeti Committee (BYC) leaders continues on the 26th day. 

 

WOMEN IN ACTION 

 

As part of the protests, women marched to the Islamabad Press Club. Posters of Baloch activists and disappeared people were carried during the march. A banner with the photographs of Baloch activists read "End social repression. Release BYC leaders" was written on the banner. After the march, Baloch women started a sit-in protest. 

 

'WE EXPOSE GENOCIDE'

 

"Our struggle aims to spread the word around the world that Balochis are facing the longest untold war in human history. These mothers have survived suffering and oppression and have become symbols of courage and defiance. The continued indifference of the authorities cannot discourage and destabilise us, but relentlessly exposes the system focused on the genocide of the Baloch. Every second of this session portrays the failure of this state, its media, its judiciary and its parliament, which are the stages of a theatre." 

 

Amma Hauri, the mother of Gul Muhammad Marri, who was detained by Pakistani security forces on 7 August 2012 and has not been heard from since, also took part in the protes. Mother Amma Hauri demanded an explanation about the fate of her child and demanded an end to the oppression against Baloch people.
