NEWS CENTER – Ali Akbar Ahmadian, a member of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, threatened the authorities of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
Ahmadian warned that if Kurdish groups from Rojhilat (Eastern Kurdistan) cross the border, “all infrastructure and institutions” in the Kurdistan Region would be targeted.
In his statement, Ahmadian said: “Let our friends and brothers in the Kurdistan Region know that so far only the headquarters belonging to the United States, Israel, and separatist groups in the region have been targeted.”
Ahmadian also indicated that the scope of attacks could expand, stating: “If these groups enter Iranian borders, all facilities and institutions in the Kurdistan Region will become targets. Allowing members of Kurdish parties to cross the border would mean that the Kurdistan Region is giving them ‘full support.’ In such a case, institutions will be targeted on a large scale, and the friendly relations and support that Iran has offered the Kurdistan Region during difficult times will come to an end.”
