Wan Bar Association applies to meet Öcalan

WAN - The Wan (Van) Bar Association has applied to the Ministry of Justice to meet with Abdullah Öcalan.
 
The Wan Bar Association announced that it had submitted an application to the Ministry of Justice to meet Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan with the aim of strengthening social peace, developing possibilities for a democratic solution, and enabling legal institutions to contribute to the process.
 
In a written statement posted on the association’s X account, it said the application was intended to contribute to efforts for social peace and democratic resolution. The statement said: “As the Van Bar Association, we have applied to the Ministry of Justice to meet with Mr. Abdullah Öcalan in order to strengthen social peace, develop possibilities for a democratic solution, and enable legal institutions to contribute to the process.”
 
The bar association emphasized its belief that lasting peace can be built on the basis of law, dialogue, human rights, and social consensus, stating: “With our belief that lasting peace can be built on the foundations of law, dialogue, human rights, and social consensus, we will continue contributing to the process.”
