The Democratic Society Congress (HDK) and the People's Democratic Congress (HDK) issued a written statement about the Christmas Day celebrated by the Christian community as the birth of the Prophet Jesus.

 

In the DTK statement where it is reminded that Kürdistan and Anadolu are regions where people of different religious beliefs lived together for a thousand years and holidays are one of the main reasons that made it possible."One of these holidays is Christmas (Yaldo), which is celebrated by our brothers in the Christian faith for nearly two thousand years, with this feelings and thoughts, we celebrate the Christmas holiday of the Christians, especially the Christians of Kurdistan and hope the holidays be a vessel of peace and tranquality between the people of different beliefs."

 

In the statement made by the HDK, reminding that 2018 was a year of pain, tears and destruction for the people, "AKP-MHP government has been implementing policies to eliminate the will to live in peace and coexistence since 2015. We would like to say that in 2019, we will struggle for a country in which all the people of different beliefs and ideas to be equal and free.We celebrate Christmas, which is the holy day of our Christian people, and the new year of our people." was said.
