Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari Provincial Organization made a statement regarding the violations of rights in the prisons. Provincial Co- Chairs Sipan Turna and Sinan Kaya, dismissed Co-Mayor Hümeyra Armut , municipal councillors, party executives, peace mothers and families of prisoners attended the press release. 

 

Kaya, stating that the government have demonstrated their view of the prisoners once againg with the Elazığ earthquake, said: "Despşte the fact that all prisoners must have been transferred to other prisoners right away, prisoners being left to die by the hand of AKP and MHP, the prisoners fearing for their lives with every aftershock demonstrates the government's respect for the lives of the people and the prisoners. Again the fact that a political prisoner, Nurcan Baysal ending her life protesting the violation of rights and the isolation on Mr. Öcalan, the imprisoned politicians, the disproportionate exiles are like a reponse to the war policies.  We address the AKP and MHP government. Rights violations in Elazig, Van, Agri, Patnos, Tekirdag and many other prisons, and all kinds of informal bullying are imposed on prisoners and convicts. Prisoners and convicts living in prisons have their rights guaranteed by law. The Ministry of Justice and the prison administrations are responsible for the right to life of every convict and prisoner. Instead of facilitating their lives, dragging them to death with violations of rights is not a duty, but murder. Immediately give up these unlawful applications. Stop putting the country in deeper crises."
