In their statement shared on their social media accounts, Grup Yorum music band reacted to the news targeting them, which are published in certain pro-government media organs. İbrahim Gökçek, who is on death fast for 314 days, shared the following statement on behalf of Grup Yorum: 

 

"They are trying to publish any and every lie to justify themselves. We continue to raise our struggle against all these attempts and we will raise the struggle. We will earn the victory, because we are the right ones. We want to send our warm regards and love to all the public, to all our people, who have been supporting us in this struggle.  

 

Another Grup Yorum member Bahar Kurt spoke after İbrahim Gökçek and told: "The government media is illegitimate. They have killed an artist and a young man of the people, who just demanded justice. In order to decrease the affect of this resistance and to cover their massacre they keep attacking with lies. We understand how right we are when we read such news. Resistance is such a powerful weapon that only the right ones have. Only the rights ones are able to raise a resistance. The criminals and the cruel are not able to resist. What they are capable of is just to oppress."
