ANKARA - HDP MYK, commemorating the revolutionary leaders of Turkish youth movement on the 48th anniversary of their execution, said: "We will always remember their pioneer spirit and the joint struggle of the peoples they pointed at as a precedent."
Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Central Executive Board (MYK) made a written statement due to the 48th anniversary of the execution of the revolutionary leaders of Turkish youth movement, Deniz Gezmiş, Yusuf Aslan and Hüseyin İnan. The statement emphasizing the fact that execution is a disgrace and a series of political murders in the political history of Turkey, said: "Despite the passing 48 years, the pain created by the death of Deniz and his friends has not been erased from our hearts. But millions have walked the bright path they have opened for us."
The dignity and firm stance of Deniz and his friends in the struggle for freedom, equality and justice, and their cries for the brotherhood of the Kurds and the Turks have not been forgotten. From where we stand, not giving up the struggle for a democratic, free and fair Turkey, to keep fighting for the people to live in equal conditions is the best way to honour their memory.
"The names of Deniz Gezmiş, Yusuf Aslan and Hüseyin İnan, and their undeterred struggle will live inside the minds and hearts of the peoples in Turkey. We will always remember their pioneer spirit and the joint struggle of the peoples they pointed at as a precedent. We bow respectfully before their honourable memory."
