İSTANBUL- The Grup Yorum member artist İbrahim Gökçek, who had just puased his death fast on the 323th day lost his life at the hospital he was medically threated.

 

İbrahim Gökçek lost his life at the hospital where he was treated after he was taken for medical threatment as his death fast was paused on the 323th day regarding the promises to meet his demands. In the statement announced from Grup Yorum's social media account is was declared: "We have just received the news that İbrahim Gökçek has fallen as martyr in the hospital! Condolences to all the people whose hearts has beaten for us!"

 

İbrahim Gkökçek was on death fast for 323 days until he paused on Wednesday and was taken to Reyap İstanbul Hospital's intensive care.

 

It was learned that Gökçek's heart stopped at 13:00.

 

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?

 

Grup Yorum members Helin Bölek, Bahar Kurt, İbrahim Gökçek, Barış Yüksel and Ali Aracı had previously declared a non-limited non-rotated hunger strike as they were all imprisoned back on May 17 2019 with the demands for the pressures on İdil Culture Center to be removed, for the warrants regarding the Grup Yorum members to be lifted and for the bans on Grup Yorum concerts to be terminated. Later on İbrahim Gökçek and Helin bölek turned their hunger strike to death fast with the same demands. Helin Bölek had lost her life on April 3 2020, on the 288th day of her death fast.
