ANKARA- HDP Co-Chair Mithat Sancar called the family of the child, who was chased by the gunned police, who fired the gun into the air to scare the children in Mardin's Nusaybin district.
Mithat Sancar, the Co-Chair of the Peoples' Democratic Party told the parent on the phone that he will be following the inversigation regarding this incident as he protested the Nusaybin DG's statement of "They were throwing stones".
HDP Press Bureau shared the following note regarding the phone call of Sancar with the parents of the child, who were exposed to the police violence: "Sancar spoke with Mehmet Erdal, the father of the child, who were exposed to police violence and scared by the police as the footages of the incident cause public indignation on how the police spill out hatred against the Kurdish children, who are only 5-10 years-old."
'THIS HATRED OWES ITS POWER TO THIS GOVERNMENT'
Sancar adressed to the statement announced by the Nusaybin DG, who has covered the incident for 20 days: "In their statement, the district governor tries to legitimize such an act of hate and attack by blaming the children for 'throwing stones'. The officials, who shares this statement prove that they are a part of this crime. What if they threw stones, the kids are so small that the stone they could ever throw would not even hurt a small bird. Nothing would be shown as a legitimate ground for such an attack against children. However, the DG's statement reflects the mentality of the government, who fans the flames of the hatred in the armed forces in Kurdish geography with bellows. This hatred owes its strength to the mentality of the current political power. HDP is determined to terminate the hatred against the children in general and against the Kurdish children in spesific. This struggle is indeed the reason of HDP's existence."
Father Erdal informed Sancar regarding the incident. ERdal told that his son war traumatized after the attack so badly that he was so afraid all the time as he kept shaking for days.
