DİYARBAKIR - HDP Group Deputy Chairman Meral Danış Bektaş told that AKP government takes the steps, which rather spreads the coronavirus other than stopping it.
Meral Danış Bektaş, the Group Deputy Chairman of Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) gave a briefing regarding the deconfinement plans of AKP and she called people not to go to the shopping-malls which are recently opened by the deconfinement plan of the AKP government.
CITIZENS ARE FACE TO FACE WITH THE PANDEMIC
Emphasizing on the critical amounts of people fighting the COVID-19, Bektaş told, "The Science Comimttees' statements are not clear. On which basis AKP and Erdoğan decides to open shopping malls? We want to call Science Committee members, you have responsibilty over these decisions. Be clear and declare what you suggest for the people of Turkey on how to struggle against COVID-19. People are just confused as the number of deaths and infections increase. A Science Committee member goes and says: I do not go to shopping malls and what does it mean in such a conjuncture to allow the citizens to go to shopping malls?
AKP IS A SHOPPING MALL PARTY
It is the very last step to re-open shopping malls amid the fight against COVID-19. Why does AKP reopens malls? Because AKP is a 'mall party'. This is such a party, which built shopping malls in the emergency areas for earthquake in İstanbul. So this is the extent of their public health mentality. As a mall party, AKP never consider public health and the fight against the pandemic. Healthcare workers were on the front line, doing everything they can. The citizens remained at homes and sometimes they stayed hungry at home. So what will happen to those efforts for 2 months?"
DO NOT GO TO MALLS
"We call out to the people, do not go malls. The workers of the malls are also at great risk. This is the system that kills. This is the system of AKP, the system of capital, the system where the labourers and workers lose and the corruption and exploitation wins. Kürdistan also suffers the pandemic triple times worse. The seasonary workers lost their jobs, the tourism workers also lost their jobs in Kürdistan region. The unemployment numbers raised to 1,5 million just in the Kurdish cities. We will not accept that no measures are taken to save people."
