84 dead, 284 injured in attack in Iran

NEWS CENTER – The number of deaths and injuries in the bomb attack in Iran has been revised once again and announced as 84 dead and 284 injured. Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Emir Abdullahian announced that they started to take urgent legal and international measures at the UN regarding the attacks.

The effects of the bomb attack that happened yesterday in Kerman, Iran continue. The bomb attack happened on the anniversary of the assassination of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, Commander of the Quds Force of the Revolutionary Guards Army.

There are different statements from officials regarding the number of casualties in the attack, for which the Iranian administration blames the United States and Israel.

In the first statements made after the attack, the number of dead was announced as 103 and the number of injured as 140. However, it was later stated that there were duplicate names in the records and the number of deaths was corrected to 95. Iranian Interior Minister Ahmet Vahidi shared the number of deaths as 95 and the number of injured as 220.

84 DEAD, 284 INJURED

Muhammed Saberi, Head of Kirman Emergency Services Institution, shared in his statement that, according to the information given to them by the Forensic Medicine Institute, 84 people lost their lives and 284 people were injured in the attack.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Emir Abdullahiyan also shared about the attack on his virtual media account. Minister Abdullahiyan announced that they started to take urgent legal and international measures through their initiatives at the United Nations (UN).

LETTER TO UNITED NATIONS

Iran’s Permanent Representation of the UN in Geneva submitted a letter to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. The letter said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran considers the individuals and organizations that played a role in this incident responsible before the law and will follow this process until those responsible are tried and punished accordingly."
