
Release call for ill prisoner Cam

	ÊLIH - Political parties and civil society organizations have called for the release of Mehmet Emin Cam, a seriously ill prisoner who is still being treated in hospital after a heart attack.&nbsp;

	&nbsp;

	Mehmet Emin Cam is on Human Rights Association's (IHD) list of seriously ill prisoners. He is still being treated in hospital after a heart attack. The family of Cam, 73-year-old Cam, who had a heart attack in Batman Beşiri T-Type Prison on 16 April, was visited by Peoples' Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party Êlih (Batman) MP Zeynep Oduncu, Co-mayor of Êlih Municipality Gulistan Sonuk, Free Women's Movement (Tevgera Jinên Azad-TJA), Peace Mothers' Assembly, Democratic Regions Party (DBP), DEM Party Êlih Province representatives.&nbsp;

	&nbsp;

	The delegation visited the family in Batman Training and Research Hospital and made a statement in front of the hospital. Zeynep Oduncu demanded justice for Cam. Stating that the "handcuffed treatment" is unacceptable, she stressed: "We call for Cam to be released and receive treatment worthy of human dignity. This persecution of ill prisoners must end immediately."

	Cam's daughter, Simel Cam, stated that her father was held in the prisoner ward alone without an escort and called for an end to the persecution of ill prisoners.&nbsp;
