DİYARBAKIR – The relatives of the people forced into dissappearance and members of İHD Diyarbakır demanded to know the whereabouts of Abdulhakim Tanrıverdi whom Cizre District Gendermerie Commander confessed they have killed.
The Diyarbakır Branch of the Human Rights Association (IHD) and the relatives of the disappeared posted a video from their social media account, asking the whereabouts of Abdulhakim TAnrıverdi who was abducted by two ski masked men in the middle of the night back in 1993 and found dead two weaks later.
HE WAS ABDUCTED FROM HIS HOME
Sharing the story of Tanrıverdi, İHD Diyarbakır Branch Executive Board Member Mustafa Altıntop shared the statements of his wife.
Stating that two men wearing ski masks came to their house in the Cizre distict of Şırnak in 1993, Altıntop said these two men told Tanrıverdi to come out in Kurdish from the window. Altıntop said the two men showed a hand granade and told they would throw it in if he didn't come. According to the statements of his wife, they both went out. They saw two men with ski masks and she saw they were taking her husband away.
TEMIZOZ CONFESSED THE MURDER
Stating that Tanrıverdi's life started looking for him in the morning and one day she finally went to Cizre District Gendermerie Command and the commander Cemal Temizöz told her not to look for him and that they have killed him.
HIS BODY WAS FOUND 2 WEEKS LATER
Stating that his body was found after 2 weeks by two shepherds in Düzova village, Altıntop said: "He had burn marks on him. His hand were tied, his skull was cracked and he was unrecognizable when he was found. His wife identified him from his clothes.
Altıntop said: "People forced into dissappearance must be found and their killers must be prosecuted. We will continue to say that with determination."
