MERSİN -  DBP Co-Chairperson Keskin Bayındır stated that PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan has clearly demonstrated the leadership of Kurdish, Turkish and Middle Eastern peoples for solution, peace and negotiation in İmralı, “Mr. Öcalan's stance in İmralı is a stance focused on peace, negotiation and democratic solution."

 

Democratic Society Congress (DTK) and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) finalized their contacts within the framework of the campaign 'We are organizing against fascism' they started on April 5. Coming together with the people in their 9 day tour in Çukurova, the committee visited the families and heard the people's complaints which focused on the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

 

DBP Co-Chairperson Keskin Bayındır, who took part in the delegation, spoke to Mesopotamia Agency regarding the outcomes of the campaign.

 

'WE WILL CONTINUE ON OUR PATH'

 

Stating that they saw that the people were following the political process very closely during the contacts, Bayındır said, “Our people aren't disconnected from the political process as they prefer. It constitutes a very important data in terms of increasing the social struggle in the coming period. We have seen that the psychological warfare methods carried out by the AKP-MHP do not work. We have witnessed that people are more determined than ever to fight against these attacks. People made some suggestions to us regarding the methods we should use in the future against these attacks. In the near future, we will turn these suggestions into a policy and continue to fight and thus continue on our way ."

 

'ERDOĞAN MUST BE PROSECUTED'

 

Reminding that the AKP was on the other side of the dialogue process, Bayındır told: "If HDP is prosecuted for these negotiations, so must Erdoğan and his cabinet. On fact, Erdoğan must stand trial for war crimes. Putting the solution process on trial is a result of the relation AKP established with very dark actors. Otherwise the peoples did not have a demand or attitude towards ending this process. On the contrary, everyone wanted a solution. Despite all insistance the AKP toppled the table and decided to wage war against the Kurds."

 

THE ROAD MAP'

 

Underlining that the government is afraid of Öcalan being heard in the society, Bayındır said: "The AKP has aggravated the isolation imposed on Mr. Öcalan in Imrali in order to spread its own policies and ensure its legitimacy. Mr. Öcalan's attitude and approach in İmralı for the last 22 years frustrated this pragmatist policy. Mr. Öcalan have drawn the path for a democratic solution. Hence, the stance of Mr. Öcalan in İmralı is the stance for peace, negotiation and democratic solution."

 

'MR. ÖCALAN'S IDEAS ARE VITAL'

 

Underlining that the people must organize shoulder to shoulder against these anti-democratic practices Bayındır said: "The society is aware of how vital the ideas of Mr. Öcalan are. The only actor in the solution of the Kurdish Question is Mr. Öcalan. The people know that the ideas that will save the country from this disaster are with Mr. Öcalan in İmralı. Kurdish people continue their struggle with determination. What is important here is that the people must unite in order to stop the course of this government."
