ANKARA - Underlining that the Kobané Case is a revenge case, HDP Co-Chair Mithat Sancar said: "It is a case that is the product of the government that could not get over the defeat of ISIS in Kobané. We will frustrate the Kobané Case together."
Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chair Mithat Sancar made a statement in front of the Sincan Prison Campus before the Kobanê Trial, which will be held for the first time. Before the statement, there was a debate over the police blocking the journalists. After the discussion with the police, Sancar made a brief statement to the journalists who were not allowed to use their cameras. Press members recorded the statement on their mobile phones.
As Sancar started to speak, the police started to make loud announcements. The discussion started again when HDP MPs protested the situation.
'REVENGE CASE'
Responding to the police blocking the reading of the press release, Sancar said: "We wanted to get together before the trial started, but as you can see, they built walls between us. This is another proof that they fear the truth. They think they can suppress our voices, they are wrong. They tought they could frustrate us with this law suit, but they are wrong. This is a political conspiracy. This hearing was organized to kill the hopes of freedom and peace. We will continue to resist for peace, democracyü, freedom and truth. This is a revenge case. It is a case that is the product of the government that could not get over the defeat of ISIS in Kobané. We will frustrate the Kobané Case together. We will step up the struggle for democracy and we will give their game away.
HDP delegation went to the courtroom following the press release to follow the hearing.
