URFA - Demanding justice for his murdered family with his mother, Ferit Şenyaşar said: "This is a test for you. Stop this cruelty."
The sit in Şenyaşar family refers to as the 'Justice Watch' started by Emine Şenyaşar who lost her husband and two sons in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız and Ferit Şenyaşar who survived the attack wounded is on its 240th day today. Şenyaşar family moved the sit in to the stairs of the Urfa Courthouse yesterday. The mother and son made a phonecall with Fadıl Şenyaşar who is being held in Elazığ Prison for the last 3 years.
Speaking about the sit in they started, Ferit Şenyaşar said: "We have been staging a sit in here for the last 8 months. My mother is getting sicker by the day. What my mother went through is a test of humanity for everyone. Someone needs to put a stop to this lawlessness. Winter is coming and my mother can't handle this cruelty anymore. This cruelty can only end if we raise our voices as a society. I am calling on the members of parliament who lost their humanity. This is a test for you. Stop this cruelty."
'DON'T LEAVE OUR SPOT EMPTY'
Stating that they moved the sit in to the stairs of the courthouse on the 230th day, Şenyaşar said: "The prosecutors tell us to go sit by the police barriers and wait for death. We will not sit here waiting for our death. We will sit in front of the office of the chief prosecutor if we have to. We have two demands. Either meet those demands or put us in prison too. My mother can't survive the winter here. If the prosecutor chooses to put us in prison, my call to the people is that they don't leave our spot empty and continue our sit in."
Şenyaşar family later walked to the stairs of the courthouse, however the police officers in front of the courthouse told them they they were instructed 'from above' that they can't allow them to stage a sit in there and said: "Someone might detonate a bomb here. We can't take responsibility for that. You can not sit here."
The family, together with their lawyer Gökhan Dayık, went to the courthouse to request a meeting with the attorney general.
