MARDİN - Rukiye Acay, mother of Seyithan Acay, whose body has not been released to his family for 467 days although the DNA result came out 8 months ago, said, "Even if only a finger is left from his body, I want it to be released to me."
3 HPG members lost their lives in the airstrike carried out after a clash in Şırnak's Gabar Mountain on July 30, 2020. One of them was Seyithan Acay. Despite the 467 days that have passed, Acay's body has not been released to his family. The body of Acay, who was stated to have died as a result of the air strike according to the statement made by the Ministry of Interior, was buried in the cemetery of the nameless in the Bahçelievler district of Şırnak. The Şırnak Chief Public Prosecutor's Office stalled the family every time they contacted the office, saying that the results of the DNA test was pending and therefore, the body of Acay was not released to his family.
THE DNA TEST WAS A MATCH
However, as a result of the research conducted by the lawyers of the Acay family, it was stated that DNA samples given by the family was a match with Acay and it was sent to the Şırnak Prosecutor's Office in February 2021. The Forensic Medicine Institude did not inform the lawyers of the result of the DNA test. Despite the fact that the lawyers of the Acay family applied to the Prosecutor's Office again, they did not receive any response.
PROSECUTOR'S ON VACATION
Mother Rukiye Acay who have been trying to get her son's body or whatever left from him for the last 15 months, said that they were told the prosecutor was on vacation everytime they went to the prosecutor's office. The mother told that she wants the remians of her son even if there's only a finger left from him and that she has been waiting for a long time to give her son a proper funeral. Mother Acay asked, "You have killed my son, why don't you release his body to me? I want to bury my son."
