URFA - Continuing their struggle for justice through winter with her mother Emine Şenyaşar, Ferit Şenyaşar said: "We are right. We continue to fight against injustice below zero."
Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons in a massacre carried out by the AKP Deputy İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives on 14 June 2018 in the Suruç district of Urfa, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who was injured in the same attack, are continuing the sit in in front of the Urfa Courthouse. The sit in, launched on March 9, is on its 302nd day. Coming in front of the court house early in the morning, Şenyaşar family started the sit in for the day.
'STRUGGLE CONTINUES'
Attending the People's Forum organized by United Struggle Forces (BMG) held in İstanbul on December 2, Ferit Şenyaşar told that he held talks demanding legal support. Underlining that the massacre carried out in the Suruç State Hospital on June 14, 2018, Şenyaşar said: "No one can interfere with the law since the case is in the judicial process. Today, we came to the Urfa Courthouse again. Our struggle continues. The temperature is 2 degrees. We cannot talk about the cold. We are right. We are right. Even it is below zero, we will continue our rightful struggle. We asked the Şanlıurfa Governor's Office to set up a tent for two people. The Governorate rejected this humanitarian request."
'OUR RESISTANCE WILL CONTINUE'
Stating that his mother is 65 years old, Şenyaşar said: "My mother has two legitimate demands. His husband and two sons were slaughtered right before her eyes in Suruç State Hospital and no law suits were filed against those who did it. My brother Fadıl Şenyaşar is being held illegally in solitary confinement for 4 years. No one can speak about law, rights or justice in Turkey as long as we sit here demanding a justice that is not served."
'JUSTICE WILL COME TO URFA COURTHOUSE ONE DAY'
Stating thatthe AKP MPs can not show their faces in public in Urfa, Şenyaşar said: "Because the whole Urfa community stands by our rightful demand. Everyone who comes to Urfa visits us in front of the Urfa Courthouse for support and says that the injustice here must end. We are determined. Our struggle will continue. Justice will be served. Justice will come to the Urfa Courthouse one day. We will not lose hope."
'AUTHORITIES FOLLOW THE PROCESS FROM PRESS'
Şenyaşar family shared the following from their Twitter account: "Our struggle for justice continues through below zero. Just as our demands are not met, the Governor's Office rejected our demand for a tent. A mother is kept waiting out here in the cold. The authorities follow the process from the press."
