DIYARBAKIR - Visiting the Justice Watch in solidarity, women said, “We are strong together against isolation and oppression. Mothers will bring justice."

The Justice Watch, which was initiated at the Diyarbakır Bar Association's service building for the ill prisoners and prisoners who are not released despite serving their time, continues on its 53rd day. Families came together with some political parties and non-governmental organizations in Ankara to have their demands heard. Support continues for families returning after visits. The women who visited the sit in stated that they supported the demands of the families.

JUSTICE WATCH AGAINST ISOLATION

One of the visitors, Meryem Turan, who stated that the problems and suffering of all mothers is the same, emphasized that a common voice should be raised for the demand for justice. Stating that the relatives of the detainees should take part in the protests, Turan said, "If they do not want our children to be killed in prisons, they should come and join the sit in here. There are thousands of sick prisoners in prisons. They should release the sick prisoners. The more mothers come and sit down against this persecution and isolation, the louder our voice will be. We will bring justice."

THE DUTY OF THE MINISRTY

Expressing her support for the Justice Watch, Nazime Çokdağlı said, “These mothers have been coming here for 53 days to continue this sit in. We are very sad to see them in these chairs. Let's support these mothers. Coffins will not come out of prisons if we support them" said Çokdagli, who called the Ministry of Justice to "fulfill their duty" and said, "It does not establish justice, it does not fulfill its duty. See these mothers and find a solution for these mothers. How long will this persecution continue? Enough is enough."

THE RESITANCE OF THE MOTHERS

Ayten Göktekin, the wife of Seyithan Göktekin, who is imprisoned in Antalya Type S Closed Prison, stated that her husband has chronic diseases and said, "They supposedly take them to the hospital to heal them, but they apply a quarantine for 15 days on their return. This quarantine makes them even more sick. We cannot go visit them, both the prisoners and their families are being punished. We condemn this and we do not accept this practice. We are concerned for the lives of our loved ones in prisons."

Saying that they will stand by the mothers staging this sit in, Göktekin said, “We are with the mothers until they die. We just want peace. We will bring justice and peace with the resistance of these mothers.”
