76-year-old Hanife Arslan, a seriously ill prisoner who was not released despite all attempts, was referred to Van Regional Training and Research Hospital for a medical report. Arslan has many diseases such as COPD, stomach, high blood pressure and dehydration in her knees. Due to her illnesses, she lives in a wheelchair.
HAD GIVEN A REPORT 'SHE MAY STAY IN PRISON'
Aslan was referred to Van Regional Training and Research Hospital upon the application made by her lawyer on January 26. The hospital reported that Aslan "may stay in prison". The report stated: "With the current examination, it has been concluded that there is no mental or physical condition in the person that would prevent the continuation of the sentence in the penal institution or require the postponement of the sentence, in accordance with Article 16 of the Law No. 5275 on the Execution of Penal and Security Measures."
