AMED - Members of the Amed Peace Mothers Assembly reacted against the death sentence given to Werîşe Mûradî by the Iranian regime and called for “Women are life, do not kill life”.
Member of Rojhilat Kurdistan Free Women's Community (Komeleya Jinên Azad ên Rojhilatê Kurdistanê - KJAR) Werîşe Mûradî is imprisoned in Evîn Prison in Iran and she is sentenced to death. Speaking on behalf of the assembly members who came together in front of their building in Rezan (Bağlar) district of Amed (Diyarbakır), Mürvet Demir said: “We call out to the Iranian State; they must stop giving death penalty to women and men. As Peace Mothers, we are against this decision. We also call on international states to abolish the death penalty. Women are life, they most not slaughter life. We condemn them and invite them to humanity.”
'THEY ARE CONFISCATING OUR RIGHTS'
Reacting against the trustees, “We will not give up our will. Let them get out of our hometown. We won the municipalities with our will. They are confiscating our will and rights in the name of religion. We do not accept this,” Demir said.
The statement ended with the slogans “Jin, jiyan, azadî (Women, life, freedom)”, “Jin jiyane, jiyane qetil nekin (Women is life, do not murder life)”, “Em îdamê naxwazin (We do not want executions)”.
