DİYARBAKIR - DBP Provincial Co-Chair Seval Gülmez was detained by the police.
Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Diyarbakır Provincial Co-Chair Seval Gülmez was detained by the police early this morning. As part of an investigation conducted by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the police raided the DBP Diyarbakır Provincial Organization's building in the Bağlar district of the city on January 26. During the search, which lasted for 7 hours, some magazines, books and newspapers, as well as Free Women's Movement (TJA) flags were seized.
The house of DBP Provincial Co-chair Seval Gülmez was similtaniously raided and searched.
Gülmez, who was in quarantine at her home at that time due to the Covid-19, was detained by the police who went back to her home this morning with the completion of the quarantine period. There is no information yet about the reason why Gülmez who was taken to the Provincial Security Directorate, was taken into custody.
RELEASED FROM PRISON IN SEPTEMBER
A lawsuit was filed against Gülmez, who was detained and arrested along with 26 women during the police operation carried out on April 5, 2021 in the city. Gülmez was released in the first hearing held at the Diyarbakır 11th High Criminal Court on September 6.
