ANKARA - HDP Batman MP Ayşe Acar Başaran asked how the state could not reach the Yazidi woman, whose family in Kadana was only able to rescue her in return of paying the kidnappers. The Yazidi woman was held in the house of an ISIS member for 3 years.
Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Batman MP Ayşe Acar Başaran tabled a parliamentary question demanding an answer from Vice President Fuat Oktay regarding the Yazidî woman Rojda held in the house of ISIS members in Ankara's Kazan district for 3 years and was rescued after her relatives in Canada gave 8 thousand dollars to the ISIS member.
In the parliamentary question, it was stated that Rojda was taken in Ankara by people chosen by her family and that she was treated in a safe place on the grounds that Rojda's health would make it difficult for her to travel. 2,600 Yazidi women and children are still missing, German Yazidis Central Council President İrfan Ortaç said that thousands of Yazidis were abducted by ISIS to different countries, including Turkey. In October 2019, an 18-year-old Yazidi young woman was rescued during the raid on the home of one of the ISIS's Talafer amirs in the Keçiören district of Ankara.
Başaran asked Oktay to answer the following questions:
“* Is the ISIS member, who has been holding a young woman as a slave in Ankara and subjecting her to systematic torture for years, still roam freely in Ankara?
* How can the militants of an organisation that has carried out more than one bomb attack in Turkey and caused the death of dozens of people reside in the capital of Turkey?
* How can the state not reach the information about Rojda, who was abducted from Shengal, has been held in Saray neighborhood in Ankara's Kazan district for about three years has reached her family in Canada?
* Is the identity of the ISIS member who held Rojda captive known? Has this person been caught? Has an investigation been initiated on this issue?
* How can ISIS members cross the border with the women and children they have kidnapped? Who are those who facilitated the entry of members of this organisation into the country?
