NEWS CENTER - It was stated that in the intense clashes in Avaşîn and Zap, where Turkey launched a new operation in partnership with the KDP, the region was bombed 147 times with warplanes, 2 helicopters belonging to the TAF were hit, and 28 soldiers lost their lives.

 

Violent clashes are taking place in the new cross-border operation launched by Turkey in the Zap, Metîna and Avaşîn regions of the Federated Kurdistan Region in partnership with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP). Intense clashes are taking place between the soldiers, who were landed in the bombed area by TAF warplanes, and HPG members. According to the HPG Press Contact Center who gave information to the Fırat News Agency (ANF), two helicopters belonging to the TAF were hit and 28 soldiers lost their lives in the clashes that took place in Avaşin and Zap regions since yesterday evening.

 

INTENSE BOMBARDMENT

 

It was stated that Turkey's attacks, which is was intensified on April 14, continued with bombardments on April 17, and that 8 helicopters landed troops on the Avaşîn region on April 17, and then the region was bombarded with helicopters. In the statement, it was stated that while the TAF wanted to land in the Werxele region, clashes took place and 10 soldiers lost their lives, 3 soldiers were injured, and the soldiers had to retreat in the ongoing clashes. It was stated that one more soldier lost his life in the clashes that started with the TAF's attempts to land in Werxelê. Violent clashes continue in the region.

 

TURKEY PREVENTED FROM LANDING SOLDIERS IN ZAP 

 

Intense bombardments were carried out in Kurojaro, Şikefta Birîndara, Ertuş, Şehîd Şahin, Karker and Çiyareş regions in the Zap area between April 14-17, and a helicopter landing in Girê Martyr Şahin region was hit. In the statement, it was stated that a helicopter that wanted to land soldiers in the Kurojaro region was prevented from landing, and 7 soldiers lost their lives in the clashes in Girê Martyr Amargî.

 

ATTACK FROM KDP BASE

 

In the statement, it was stated that the TAF launched an attack on the Kurojaro region from the Sirê base, which is under the control of the KDP, and that the KDP made military shipments to the Derelok, Sheladize and Barzan late last night.

 

TURKISH HELICOPTERS WERE HIT

 

In the statement, it was stated that after 5 soldiers lost their lives as a result of the clashes in the Kevirêkun district of Şikefta Birîndara region, the Turkish Armed Forces had to withdraw to Kaniya Skorsky. It was also noted that 2 helicopters trying to land in the Çemço region were prevented from landing and one helicopter was hit.

 

It was noted that helicopters trying to land on Kurojahro over the Bamernê-Amediye-Dêrelok line were shot down and 3 helicopters had to retreat.
