NEWS CENTER - YBŞ General Command stated that Iraq received the orders for the attacks from the KDP and Turkey, and said, "We will use our right of self-defense against any kind of attack."
The Iraqi army continues to attack the checkpoints of Shengal Resistance Units (YBŞ) and Êzîdxan Asayish in Shengal. In the statement made by the YBŞ regarding the attacks, it was stated that the attack was ordered by the KDP and Turkey.
Emphasizing that the Kazimi government has been preparing for an attack against the Yazidis for a long time, the statement said, "We approached the situation calmly and sensitively so that a different situation would not arise. On April 17, when preparations were made for the Holy Çarşema Sor Feast, the Iraqi army attacked the security forces. We started making efforts to prevent these attacks. However, despite all our attempts, the attacks were restarted at different points and the values of our people were tried to be trampled on. We were compelled to use our right of legitimate defense against these attacks. Despite all the negotiations, the Kazimi government did not give up on its offensive policies, attacked our people with tanks and artillery. Our forces were compelled to get ahead of the Iraqi army so that the problem does not grow out of proportion and the attacks are not directed at our people."
KDP ECCALATES THE SITUATION
Pointing out that the Kazimi government's attacks on Shengal and Turkey's attacks on the Federated Kurdistan Region were carried out by the "Mosul Joint Operations" as a result of the KDP's escalation, the statement said, "Kazimi is taking orders from the treacherous KDP and from invading Turkey. The problem in Shengal is not military but political. Attempts by the Kazimi government pave the way for the occupation of Iraqi lands. The Iraqi people should be aware of this reality. Disarmament of our people in such a critical period when Iraq is going through a major crisis is an attempt to update the 2014 assault on our lands."
'WE WILL NOT LEAVE OURSELVES VULNERABLE'
In the continuation of the statement, the following was noted: “As the Êzidî people, we have faced many massaccres in history. The main reason for this was that we lacked the powers to protect ourselves. In the 2014 massacre, we became aware that we have the right to organize politically, economically, militarily and socially. For this reason, we will never leave ourselves vulnerable again."
'OUR PEOPLE SHOULD NOT ALLOW THESE PLANS'
Reminding that there were casualties from both sides in the last clashes, the statement said, "One of our comrades was martyred and 3 of our comrades were injured, one of them was a civilian. We would like to express once again that we beliebe in the solution of problems within the framework of dialogue and democracy. We do not reject the Iraqi army. But we are against the use of an army for genocide. We will use our right of legitimate defense against all attacks. Whatever the outcome, we will not stop defending and protecting the gains of our people. Our people should not allow plans and conspiracies based on our destruction to succeed. On this basis, our people should also strengthen their defense of resistance and step up the struggle. Our people should not allow plans and conspiracies based on the destruction of our people to succeed.”
