ŞIRNAK - Hadi Öcün, elder brother o Necmi Öcün who lost his life in an operation carried out by Turkey back in the 90's underlined that to stand against war is a moral responsibility and said: "All sides lose at war."
The attacks launched by Turkey on the Zap, Metina and Avaşîn regions on April 17 in cooperation with the KDP continue. Losing power in the region, Turkey cannot make progress despite all its technical superiority. Reactions against the war continues to grow all over the world. Participants in the Life Watch, organized by the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Şırnak Provincial Organization against the war, called for Kurds to unite against the war.
'ALL SIDES LOSE AT WARS'
Hadi Öcün, brother of Nezmi Öcün, who lost his life in the conflict between soldiers and HPG members in Dersim in 1994, joined in the Life Watch held in Şırnak. Expressing that his participation in the sit-in against the war was a conscientious responsibility, Öcün said, “My brother died in a conflict in 1994. I came here as a martyr's family. I am a Kurd; my mother is Kurdish, my father is Kurdish and I am Kurdish. We were born as Kurds. We cannot deny our existence. We cannot say we are Turks or Arabs. We say Kurds should not be killed in the four parts of Kurdistan. They can not end Kurds by killing them. As a Kurdish person I am calling on to all mothers who are suffering for this war. Do not accept this war. Do not remain silent against those who causes this war. My brother died. I don't want any body else to die."
'BARZANİ WILL LOSE'
Addressing the families that stages a sit-in in front of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Diyarbakır building, claiming that HDP took their children to the mountains to join the PKK, Öcün said: "Do not fall for that game. It is not right for a Kurd to seek revenge from another Kurd. No Turkish person, or Arab person or Azeri person would do this for money but Kurds do.This is not acceptable. We have to know ourselves and each other well. We are Kurdish, why deny ourselves? Barzani will lose if he insists on denying the fact that he is also Kurdish. Pointing guns against your brothers and sisters is treason. Is to deny your own existance."
