Lawyer who met Güzel denied the allegations

ANKARA- Lawyers who were able to meet with HDP Diyarbakır MP Semra Güzel denied the allegations about their client.
 
Peoples'Democratic Party(HDP) Diyarbakır MP Semra Güzel whose parliamentary immunity was lifted in March was detained in Istanbul yesterday. Güzel, who was taken to İstanbul Police Department, was not allowed to meet with her lawyers until late at night.
 
Association for Lawyer for Freedom Istanbul Branch shared the following message on its Twitter accounts: "HDP MP Semra Güzel, whose parliamentary immunity was lifted unlawfully, was detained today and taken to the Istanbul Police. Although our members went to visit her and provide legal support, they have been prevented from meeting for 2 hours. The Istanbul Police Department prevents lawyers from meeting their clients with its unlawful practice that it has been trying to make routine lately. We don't accept this arbitrary attitude of the plice which prevents the right of defense. The right of defense cannot be blocked!"
 
LAWYERS: GÜZEL WAS DETAINED IN ISTANBUL
 
Lawyers were able to meet with Güzel after hours. Lawyers said that it is not true the allegations of "Güzel was detained in Edirne"  made by Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu and the pro-government media. The Lawyers stated that Güzel was detained in a way station in Silivri district of İstanbul. Lawyers shared that there was no ill-treatment during detention.
 
Stating that Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office made a detention order for Güzel and the investigation opened against her is in Ankara, the lawyers stated that it is not yet clear whether Güzel will be brought to Ankara.
