İSTANBUL - Revolutionary Party Deputy Chairman Burcugül Çubuk stated that the reason for Turkey's use of chemical weapons was "defeat".
Turkey is using chemical weapons in the attacks launched on April 17 against the Zap, Metina and Avaşîn regions of the Federated Kurdistan Region in partnership with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP). It has been announced that banned and chemical weapons have been used at least 2,476 times in the attacks, which have been 6 months behind. HPG announced that 17 of its members lost their lives in chemical weapons attacks in the last 3 months. In addition, images of 2 HGPs who died after chemical exposure were published.
'ATTACKS RESULTED IN DEFEAT'
Evaluating Turkey's attacks, Revolutionary Party Deputy Chairperson Burcugül Çubuk said: "The attacks were 'invasion and annexation'. Before the attacks that started on April 23, 2021, propaganda was made as a 'final attack', but the attacks resulted in defeat. Even the so-called opposition and the CHP, which approved the attacks, came to a position to criticize. We know how the guerrilla resisted in Başur. We saw that the army was constantly withdrawing. At the point where this defeat was most understood, the bourgeois opposition and its colonial partners were also criticized. The most obvious example of this is Garê.”
'KDP ACTS AS AN AGENT'
Stating that Turkey started to use the KDP after the defeat, Çubuk said: "Turkey evaluated the KDP from a logistical point. It secretly infiltrated into the KDP. At the same time, Turkey used the KDP as a separatist element in the Kurdish unity issue. The KDP acts as an agent of the colonialists; therefore, the attitude and stance of the KDP are hostile to the Kurdish people. As if this were not enough, they seized the gas masks that went to the guerrillas with the attacks; likewise, another wave of attacks started this year and they wanted to get revenge for last year's defeat."
CRITICISM TO THE OPPOSITIONS
Pointing out that the use of chemical weapons increased after the attacks that started on April 17, Çubuk said: "Turkey considers the mountains, stones, birds and soil in the region as enemies. The chemical weapons destroyed the whole geography. We know that it has caused a serious loss and they do not explain it; therefore, it turns to chemicals. It does not see any harm in using it because it aims to completely destroy it. The government aims to destroy the Kurds, similar attacks were also carried out in Turkish cities. While it is very easy to criticize the violence of the oppressed, there is also a total that calls the violence of the oppressor and the use of chemical weapons 'claims'. A wide left, socialist network has emerged. This is not understandable. The revolutionaries are trying to do their best on the street; however, the fact that a revolutionary focus is not on the street is also a matter of discussion for us."
TURKISH STATE HAS A TRADITION OF 'DENIAL'
Referring to the government's statement that "there are no chemical weapons in our inventory", Çubuk said: "There are the banned weapons in the hands of ISIS and Turkey holds the raw materials. If there is raw material, what is the obstacle to its production? There is no obstacle to its production. By establishing a workshop, it can manufacture weapons. Expressions were made that it is not in the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces. Unlawful Warfare is not something that is done with inventories. There is no need to even enter such a discussion while JİTEM is in the middle. This state denies throwing people into lime pits. It refuses to open mass graves. This is a state tradition. The Turkish state has a 'denial' tradition."
'WE HAVE TO FIGHT FOR OURSELVES'
Emphasizing that attacks are not legal as well as chemical weapons, Çubuk said: "International law will not yield sufficient results. We have to fight for ourselves. The right to life of the working class and the right to life of the Kurds are inseparable. If the peoples want to live, they have to defend the right to life of the peoples of Kurdistan. The political line must be established on this point."
