NEWS CENTER - Stating that before the massacre in Paris an application was made to the Ministry of Interior and the Governor of Paris for security measures to be taken, Foreign Relations Spokesperson of the Democratic Kurdish Community Center, Berivan Fırat said: "If the application was taken into account, there would be no massacre."
KCK Executive Council Member Emine Kara (Evin Goyi), Mîr Perwer (Mehmet Şirin Aydın) and Abdurrahman Kızıl lost their lives in the armed attack against Ahmet Kaya Kurdish Cultural Center in Strasbourg's Saint Denis District in Paris, France. While the repercussions of the attack continue, people demand the 2nd massacre in Paris to be illuminated and action to be taken.
It was stated that the representatives of Kurdish institutions in Paris informed the Governor of Paris and all relevant institutions that meetings will be held in all Kurdish institutions and associations for the actions and activities to be carried out regarding the January 9 Paris Massacre. Democratic Kurdish Community Center Foreign Relations Spokesperson Berivan Fırat gave information about the applications and meetings made 3 weeks ago for security measures to be taken for their institutions and associations. Fırat said that they have applied for security measures to be taken in all Kurdish institutions and associations, especially the Ahmet Kaya Kurdish Cultural Center, before the events and activities regarding the January 9 Paris Massacre.
APPLICATIONS WERE MADE FOR SECURITY MEASURES
Fırat said, "There are constant attacks against our institutions. These are mostly provocations or vandalism against our institutions. We reported these attacks 3 weeks before the 2nd Paris Massacre. We informed the auhtorities about the commemorations and meetings we will be having regarding the 1st Paris Massacre. We have personally informed the Governorship of Paris that the actions will take place on January 4, 7 and 9. We even obtained permission for the actions to be held on these dates. We told that there were going to be preparatory meetings in this context in all Kurdish institutions. They told us that they will take measures , yet no measures have been taken so far."
'OUR APPLICATIONS WERE NOT TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT'
Stating that they met with the Minister of Justice and the Governor of Paris after the massacre, Fırat said, "We have been informed that necessary security measures will be taken in this regard as well. If our previous meetings were taken into account, maybe such a massacre would not have happened. 3 of our friends would still be alive. Another Kurdish person was attacked in Paris yesterday. He was subjected to a fascist attack. He undergone surgery and in critical condition. His life is in danger. It is the people who defend Erdogan and his government who did this. The people who did these rely on Erdoğan and his hotile policies against the Kurds. We can not say that these attacks were carried out by only one person. We know that this was not an individual attack but a racist attack. The whole Kurdish community was targetted. The attacker also confessed that he wants to kill Kurds. For this reason we demand the investigation to reveal the facts and the case should be dealt within the scope of terrorism."
