ISTANBUL - Journalist Sezgin Kartal, who was detained on January 10, was arrested on charges of "being a member of a terrorist organization".
Journalist Sezgin Kartal, who was detained on January 10 Working Journalists' Day as part of an investigation carried out by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, was arrested. Kartal, who was kept in the Istanbul Police Department and whose file was subject to a confidentiality order, was transferred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan during the day.
Having given a statement at the prosecutor's office, Kartal was referred to the Criminal Court of Peace on the charge of "being a member of a terrorist organization". Kartal, whose statement was taken at the judge's office, was arrested for the same reason.
