AMED - The objection to the fact that Adnan Bilen, who was on the visitor list of DFG Co-chair Serdar Altan, was not allowed to meet because he was found "inconvenient", was rejected by the Court of Execution on the same grounds.
The Dicle Fırat Journalists Association (DGF) Co-chairperson Serdar Altan, who was among the 16 journalists arrested in the operation against journalists on June 16, 2022, based in Amed(Diyarbakır), was not allowed to meet with his colleague Adnan Bilen, whom he had legally put on the interviewer list by notifying the administration with 3 names. Altan's lawyer, Resul Temur, appealed to the Diyarbakır Criminal Execution Judge against the decision taken by the Diyarbakır Type D Prison administration.
Diyarbakır Criminal Execution Judgeship, which evaluated the objection, pointed to the "Regulation on Visiting Convicts and Detainees" in its decision. If deemed necessary, the administration of the penitentiary institution conducts an investigation about the visitors notified, whether there is any objection to their visit, through the law enforcement agency. Visitors who are deemed objectionable are not allowed to visit and new visitors are requested to be notified.
In accordance with the aforementioned provision, the Court of Execution decided to reject the objection, stating that the lawyer's request was taken into account in the provisions specified in the relevant regulation and that the visitor was deemed objectionable as a result of the law enforcement investigation.
