AMED - In Amed, the municipal police and the police under the management of trustees wanted to prevent the concert of the artist Kasım Taşdoğan.
The concert organized by Kurdish artist Kasım Taşdoğan in a cafe in the Kooperatifler Mahallesi of Amed's(Diyarbakır) Yenişehir district was tried to be prevented on the grounds that "permission was not obtained and noise was reported". The municipal police and the police under the trusteeship warned the cafe owner Ramazan Şimşek, citing the aforementioned reasons, and threatened to "punish a fine" if the concert continued. The concert then continued without the use of loudspeakers. The audience accompanied Taşdoğan in the melodies he sang. The concert ended enthusiastically.
'WE WILL KEEP OUR CULTURE ALIVE'
Reacting to the situation, Şimşek evaluated the events as "intolerance to Kurdish". Drawing attention to the street where the concert was held, Şimşek said: “This street is the street of art, it is the street of Amed, it is a cultural street of our country. We will keep our culture alive. After 10 years, we bought a famous Kurdish artist to this street. But some were offended by it. We say 'let them be disturbed'. We will disturb them in every way. In this sense, our resistance will continue.”
