ISTANBUL - SGDF Central Executive Board member Berfin Polat was arrested on the allegation of "being a member of a terrorist organisation".
Berfin Polat, a member of the Free Young Women's (ÖGK) Central Coordination and a member of the Socialist Youth Associations Federation (SGDF) Central Executive Board (MYK), was detained at the Istanbul Courthouse where she went to testify on September 22. Polat was taken to the Istanbul Courthouse yesterday. Polat was arrested at the Criminal Court of Peace, where she was referred with a request for arrest, on the charge of "being a member of a terrorist organization".
Polat was the Istanbul parliamentary candidate of the Greens and Left Future Party (Green Left Party) in the 14 May Presidential and 28th Term Parliamentary elections.

SGDF made the following statement on the issue on the social media platform X: "They want the revolutionary struggle not to meet the youth masses and the revolutionaries become unable to move but we will hold on tighter with each attack and take our captive comrades."
