ANKARA - Green Left Party MP Yılmaz Hun requested that a commission consisting of all parties in the Parliament be established and İmralı be visited.
The international conspiracy against PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, which was carried out in cooperation with global powers and marked the beginning of the Third World War, has passed its 25th year. Abdullah Öcalan, who left the Middle East and went to Europe on October 9, 1998, insisting on a democratic solution to the Kurdish issue against the conspiracy, was brought to Turkey on February 15, 1999, after a 130-day process that he described as "crucifixion". Abdullah Öcalan, who was placed under severe isolation conditions in İmralı Type F High Security Prison, continued his efforts for a solution, which started in 1993, throughout the 25-year period.
Abdullah Öcalan expressed his insistence once again, saying: "I have been struggling for peace for 20 years" on January 3, 2013, when negotiations with the state started. The most important agenda of İmralı in the process carried out under the name of "Solution", which was later concluded with the "Collapse Plan" decided by the AKP at the National Security Council (MGK) meeting dated October 30, 2014, was the importance of the parliament in the solution.
Abdullah Öcalan frequently emphasized the "most important issue" for the parliament and underlined that the negotiations should be legalized. The PKK Leader repeatedly emphasized the importance of the parliament call, especially in the second stage of the process, but the government did not take any steps on this issue.
After the end of this process, the AKP government, which put the war concept into effect, aggravated the isolation system on İmralı Island. Abdullah Öcalan, who has not been allowed to meet with his family and lawyers at this stage, has not been heard from for 31 months. Greens and Left Future Party (Green Left Party) Îdir MP Yılmaz Hun, who is a member of the Parliamentary Human Rights Investigation Commission, said that a commission should be established, including all party representatives, against the isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who has not been heard from for 31 months, in the 26th year of the international conspiracy. He underlined that he had to visit İmralı Type F Prison.
THE COUNCIL DOES NOT ANSWER THE PROPOSALS
Stating that PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan has been held in isolation since the day he was brought to İmralı, Hun said: "This situation has worsened in the last 3 years. The isolation and communication disability are not based on any law, and that national and international norms as well as the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) have been violated. Describing this situation as a "special practice". At this point, as Green Left Party MPs, we also submitted parliamentary questions and research proposals. There is no answer to these. They are trying to make us forget and ignore through isolation."
'ISOLATION HAS REACHED THE UNSUSTAINABLE POINT'
Underlining that the isolation imposed on Abdullah Öcalan has reached an unsustainable point, Hun said: "The isolation should be ended immediately. Isolation is the shame of Turkey, the Parliament, and the shame of democracy. The parliament should not be isolated from the struggle regarding isolation. An investigation should be carried out within the scope of the rights of Mr. Öcalan and all prisoners. The Parliament must respond to our investigation proposals, investigate the conditions under which Mr. Öcalan is being held in İmralı, and inform the public. A commission consisting of all parties in the Parliament should go to İmralı Prison, investigate the conditions and the lives of Mr. Öcalan and the other prisoners there, and explain it to the public."
THE IMPACT OF ÖCALAN ON PEACE
Stating that PKK Leader Öcalan is influential in Kurdistan, Turkey and the Middle East, Hun said: “We saw this impact in the solution process. We saw that Turkey took a breath and how much social peace was needed. Abdullah Öcalan has a serious influence in this context. In order for the solution to become operational again, Mr. Öcalan's physical freedom must be ensured and the conditions must be improved. The state itself declared that it is important for social peace. In this respect, we think it is important for Mr. Öcalan to convey his thoughts to the outside world and share them with the public."
