ANKARA - Green Left Party Co-Spokesperson İbrahim Akın stated that they have entered a new era with the congress and said: "Wars that cause people to be murdered are not a solution." Co-Speaker Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar said:“Our greatest success is our common struggle. We will succeed together."
Greens and Left Future Party (Green Left Party) is holding its 4th Grand Congress at Atatürk Sports Hall in Ankara. Thousands of people from all over Turkey and Kurdistan attended the congress, which was held with the slogan "For Freedom / Ji bo Azadiyê". Green Left Party Co-Spokesperson İbrahim Akın and Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar made speeches at the congress.
Speaking first, Akın stated that they overcame great obstacles to hold the congress and greeted those who came to the congress despite all the obstacles. Stating that the Green Left Party has undertaken a historical mission, Akın stated that the party fulfills this responsibility as a HDP component.
WAR IS NOT THE SOLUTION
Akın said: “As long as we say justice and equality, they impose their monist system. It's like that everywhere in the world. The ongoing wars are now a third war of sharing. These wars cause many people to be murdered today. War is not the solution, war is blood, it is the murder of children and women. We also stand with the Palestinian people. However, it is not possible for us to defend Hamas's massacres of civilians and women. We want the United Nations (UN) to play a role in stopping this war.
WE WILL SUCCESS TOGETHER
Green Left Party Co-Spokesperson Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar spoke. Greeting the participants of the congress, Uçar stated that they inherited a legacy and continued this march with the Green Left Party. Uçar continued her speech as follows: "Dear friends, we also need to make a thank you speech. I would like to thank my friends who have supported this struggle so far, all my companions and struggle friends with whom we acted together in the Green Left Party and HDP. It is our beloved people who have made the greatest effort both in this party and in this struggle. Good luck to all of us, I wish success to all newly elected friends. We are all together, we will succeed together.”
Following the speeches of the co-spokespersons, a video was shown about the history of the Kurdish democratic political movement and the joint struggle with Turkey's left and socialist movements.
