ÇEWLİG – 18 people were detained in house raids in Çewlîg.
Police raids were carried out on some houses in Çewlîg city center and Dara Hênê (Genç), Kanirêş (Karlıova) and Bongilan (Solhan) districts. At least 18 people, including Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (HEDEP) Bongilan District Co-Chair Übeyid Özer, were detained in the raids carried out yesterday and today.
All those detained are being held at the Provincial Security Directorate. It was learned that a 'confidentiality' decision was made regarding the ongoing investigation file and a restriction on lawyers was imposed.
The names of some of those detained are as follows: Alaattin Narinç, Abdurrahman Sav, Şefika Doğan, Mehtap Ergi, Mazlum Sernyel, İsmail Andan, Yunus Sönmez, Saadet Arslan, Ruken Yiğit, Tuba Demir, Hasan Akyol, Ahmet Dumlu, Kıymat Bağlı, Vesile Sayak, Tütem Çokay. and Boğatekin, whose name cannot be learned.
