NEWS CENTER - İsmail Tüzün, an ill prisoner in Kırşehir High Security Prison, is being prevented from treatment because he objected to strip searches and oral searches.
İsmail Tüzün, a prisoner in Kırşehir High Security Prison, is on the list of ill prisoners of the Human Rights Association (IHD). Tüzün, who suffers from intestinal and stomach diseases, has been in prison for 21 years. It is stated that Tüzün, who has not been treated for the last 4 months despite his illnesses, refused to go to the hospital because he was forced to undergo mouth searches and strip searches.
Tüzün, who has been held in solitary confinement for 3 months, talked about the rights violations during his weekly phone call with his family. Tüzün stated that there are about 50 prisoners in the prison and each prisoner is kept in a separate room and said: “They constantly threaten us. They use physical and psychological violence. They pressure us to change our rooms. The pressure, threats and bullying against us are increasing day by day. We started an action against this bullying.”
Tüzün called on the public and human rights organizations for sensitivity.
