NEWS CENTER - Stating that the TSK operation in Federated Kurdistan Region aims to destroy the status of the Kurds, KNK Chair Zeynep Murad said: "This war is the war of all four parts of Kurdistan."
The operation launched by the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) on April 23, against Avaşîn, Metîna and Zap regions, from both air and land, continues. Free Syrian Army (ÖSO) members and Roj Peshmerga were sent as reinforcement for the TSK during the operation that started by deploying troops from air when the deaths among troops increased. Finally the rangers from Turkey was sent as reinforcement but the operation got stuck in Metîna
Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) Co-chair Zeynep Murad evaluated the effects and results of the ongoing operation on its 21st day.
NATIONAL PACT PLAN
Stating that Turkey's plan is not limited with the invasion of Zap, Metîna and Avaşîn, and it plans to dominate the region as a whole, Murad said: "Turkey wants to renew the plans of the Ottoman with these operations and extend their borders. The line of the operation defends all south Kurdistan. It is an important line for Turkey too."
POLITICAL SILENCE
Criticizing the plans of Turkey and the silence of the Federated Kurdistan Region, Murad said: "Each politician in Iraq knows about this situation. But why are they remaining silent? This silence is interpreted as acceptance of the operations. The politicians and authorities in Iraq is now divided into two sides. While one side is reactive to these operations, the other side is silent. There are different reasons for this silence. One of these reasons stems from the fact that Iraq is weakening and is in an impenetrable crisis. There are currently two fronts using this situation of Iraq. One is the USA and the other is Iran. These two sides opposing each other at the same time. Iraq is looking for a way out of this crisis."
WATER WEAPONIZED
Expressing that Turkey threatened Iraq to cut the water of the Euphrates River, Murad said, “We see that there are powers that support Turkey here. Turkey wants to take a share and benefit from this crisis. Turkey is threatening Iraq while acting on its own interests. Iraq is preparing for an election. There are political forces that support Turkey. They want Turkey to win. But Turkey uses these forces. The biggest crisis in Iraq right now is the water crisis. Turkey threatens to cut the water of Iraq. We saw very recently that Turkey cut the Euphrates water. The Euphrates River is not flowing now. Now Iraq has turned to the Tigris River. But Dicle River also comes from Turkey's soil. All these developments cause Iraq not to take a stand against Turkey."
'PKK IS NOT THE MAIN REASON'
Underlining that the aim of the operation is not ony the PKK, Murad said: "The main objective of this operation is to destroy the gains of the Kurds and change the demographic structure. We all saw what Turkey did in Efrin. They want to invade Başur just like that. Erdoğan clearly says he will not withdraw from any territory his troops enters. This is a very clear message. Turkey takes every chance to make this come true. We have seen Turkey's failure at Garé very recently. They could not succeed and achieve their goals in Garé. "
NATIONAL RESPONSIBILITY
Stating that Turkey is going through a crisis, Murad said: "Turkey is having problems with all countries. Just like they invaded Libya, not they are attacking Başur. Turkey made a decision to withdraw all its gangs and forces from Libya. Where will it place these forces? It will invade our lands and settle them here in our lands. This strategy is no stranger to us. It attacks Başur with the same strategy and tactics. But there is a strong resistance against these attacks. And supporting this resistance is a national responsibility. This war is not just between PKK and Turkey. This war is the war of all four parts of Kurdistan."
NEGOTIATION BETWEEN US AND TURKEY
Underlining tha fact that it is not a coincidence that the operation started right after AKP's President Erdoğan and US President Joe Biden spoke on the phone, Murad said: "Turkey gave the message that it had the approval of the United States after this phonecall. Just one day prior to the phonecall, United States announced that it recognizes the Armenian Genocide. The silence of US means that it approved these operations. US recognized the Armenian Genocide, and allowed the Kurdish genocide. This is a dirty negotiation between USA and Turkey."
OPERATION IS NOT INDEPENDENT FROM SHENGAL
Emphasizing that the operation is not independent from Shengal, Murad said: "The signing of the Shengal Agreement was the preperation of this operation. This developments are all interrelated. This agreement was signed by Turkey, Erbil and Baghdad. Geographically, Shengal is a strategic place, which is the reason why everyone is trying to invade Shengal. Turkey too has other plans for Shengal. But it could not achieve its goal. Turkey has now actively engaged, but the Êzidî community is resisting."
BATTLE TO PROTECT THE GAINS OF KURDS
Stating that the operation was Turkey's move against the Kurds, Murad continued as follows: "Turkey wants to destroy all gains of the Kurds. But there is a group of people who insists on not seeing the truth about these attacks. The regional press doesn't share their knowladge with the people. Apart from this, TUrkey is conducting a psychological warfare in the region. What we need today is for all the Kurdish institutions and organizations to display their reactions. Turkey is not that strong. It holds on by this psychological warfare. Turkey's strength was destroyed in Garé. Therefore all Kurds has to assume responsibility and protect the national resistance. This war is not just between PKK and Turkey. This is the war of all four parts of Kurdistan. It is not the time to remain silent. It is time for resistance. Fascism can be defeated through the resistance of our people. "
