ADANA - At least 49 people including HDP and BDP executives were detained during police raids on their homes in multiple cities.
Within the scope of an investigation carried out by the Adana Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, police raided several houses in Adana, Şırnak and Dersim simultaneously. 20 people, including the executives of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and the Democratic Regions Party (DBP), were detained. It was learned that those detained, were detained on the allegation of 'being a member of a terrorist organization' and were taken to Adana Provincial Security Directorate.
The names of some of the detainees are as follows: HDP Adana Provincial Organization director Mehmet Yaşık, Çukurova TUAYDER director Mehmet Tutuş, Cigerhum Güven, Şinda Erol, Beritan Özbey.
It was reported that during the raid on Cigergun Güven's house, the police forced the people lay on the ground and battered the young people.
DİYARBAKIR BASED OPERATION
Within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, warrants were issued for 34 people. At least 29 people were detained in house raids in Diyarbakır center, Kulp and Silvan districts, Istanbul, Batman and Antalya.
Some names detained in Diyarbakır-based house raids are as follows: Former Batman Municipality Co-chair Sabri Özdemir, HDP Diyarbakır Provincial Organization former Co-chair Cabbar Leygara, HDP Diyarbakır Deputy Provincial Co-chair İrfan Soner, provincial administrators Arif Bulut, Newroz Reşitoğlu and Ramazan Kızıltepe, HDP Bağlar former District Co-chair Mehmet Atlıhan, Yenişehir Municipality Council members Mehmet Alaattin Zuğurli and Yusuf Sökmen, Şahin Tanrıverdi, 81-year-old Kadri Atlı.
Those detained were taken to Diyarbakır Provincial Security Directorate. The reason of their detention remains unknown.
