DUHOK - Unable to get results from the cross-border operations, Turkey is banning people from going to the plateaus to graze their animals and evacuating villages by the hand of the KDP. Having a four meetings in 2 months, Şırnak Governor Ali Hamza Pehlivan and Duhok Governor Ali Tatar decided that 38 villages to be evacuated, displacing 300 families.
The cross-border operation launched by Turkey on the Avaşîn, Metina and Zap regions of the Federated Kurdistan Region on April 23 has left its second month behind. The Turkish Armed Forces (TSK), which could not make the desired progress from the land, started to attack from air. People's Defence Forces (HPG) continues its actions on the hills where TSK is located. Supported by Zerewanî and Gulan forces affiliated with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) in the Regional Administration, especially in the Werxelê, Girê Sor areas of the Avaşîn region and the Qaşûra and Orê areas of the Metîna, the clashes intensified.
According to the information received, a new plan was prepared for the siege of HPG forces at a meeting between MIT-KDP officials last year at Mesut Barzani's guest house in the Korean village of Hewlêr's Mesife. In line with this plan, heavy weapons were deployed on the outskirts of Garê Mountain, in the Zebarî and Deştê Nehlê regions where Assyrians live.
A PLAN BEYOND MASSACRE!
While the TSK's attacks on the Metina region continue, settlements are deliberately targeted. It is stated that the aim is to depopulate the region. This plan was revealed during the meeting of Turkey's Ambassador in Hewler with KDP officials that lands were purchased for military bases and cutting trees was considered normal. Although cutting trees and marketing them in Turkey come to the fore, it is stated that the main purpose is to rid the region of the people.
MEETING BETWEEN ŞIRNAK AND DUHOK
The fact that the paramilitary forces and village guards from Turkey were involved in the cutting og the trees, indicates that the aim is a demographic change. 17 villages along the Derkar border, 14 villages in Batifa and 7 villages in Kanimasi were evacuated. With the burning of dozens of acres of land and forest areas, more than 300 families were displaced. People were also banned from grazing their animals at the plateaus by the KDP which allagedly indicates that in the short run, the area is being militarized, and in the long ruh, the demography will be changed.
It was learned that the governorships of Şırnak and Duhok started working under the name of a joint project for the realization of this strategic plan. It has been claimed that in the last two months, Sirnak Governor Ali Hamza Pehlivan and Duhok Governor Ali Tatar have held meetings and meetings 4 times.
