ANKARA - Seriously ill prisoner Ozge Ozbek, who was released after her execution was postponed for 6 months, said, "I hope all political prisoners will regain their freedom."

 

Ozge Ozbek, a seriously ill prisoner held in Sincan Women's Closed Prison, was released after her execution was postponed for 6 months by the Forensic Medicine Institution (ATK).

 

Ozge Ozbek, who was arrested immediately after the operation performed on 27 October 2020 for a brain tumour, has been prevented from being released for years due to the report of ATK stating that she "can stay in prison" despite the report of Kocaeli Darıca Training and Research Hospital Medical Board dated 24 December 2021 stating that "it is not suitable to stay in prison conditions". 2 months ago, Bilkent City Hospital, to which she was referred to, issued a report stating that he "can stay in prison" despite her severe illnesses. Ozge Ozbek has been suffering from increasing headaches, seizures and loss of balance due to her illness.

 

Ozge Ozbek, who was released after her execution was postponed for 6 months for treatment, was greeted with flowers by the Association of Lawyers for Freedom (ÖHD) and Peoples' Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party Ankara Provincial Organisation.

 

Ozge Ozbek made a short speech and said, "I hope that not only a few prisoners but all our prisoners will be free. All political prisoners will be free. My joy is bitter right now because I came out incomplete, I want all my friends inside to be free as soon as possible. Greetings to everyone."
