Kemal Kurkut commemorated at place where he murdered

AMED - Kemal Kurkut, a university student who was murdered by the police during the 2017 Newroz celebrations in Amed, was commemorated at the place where he was shot. 

Kemal Kurkut, a university student who was murderd by the police at the checkpoint at the entrance of the Newroz celebrations in Amed in 2017, despite being naked, was commemorated at the place where he was shot. Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-chair Keskin Bayındır, People's Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party Co-chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan, delegations from Europe and the Federated Kurdistan Region attended the commemoration. 
 
'WE PRESENT THE NEWROZ OF 2025 TO KURKUT'
 
Speaking at the commemoration, DBP Co-chair Keskin Bayındır stated that this Newroz is the Newroz of peace and freedom and said, "Today, in 2017, a Kurdish youth was massacred on Newroz day. In 2025, we say that Kurdish youth must never be massacred. As we celebrate Newroz for peace everywhere today, let it be the Newroz of peace and freedom. Kemal Kurkut was murdered here. Kurds are being persecuted. Today we will celebrate Amed Newroz with millions. Our people from 4 parts of Kurdistan are here today, we remember Kemal Kurkut with respect. We gift the 2025 Newroz to Kemal Kurkut. We present democratic solution and peace to them. Happy Newroz to our people, Kemal Kurkut and everyone."
 
Then a carnation was left at the place where Kurkut was murdered.
